With the new staterestore extension, do you think it's possible to create a custom button to export states (either all saved states, or the current one) and another to import state(s)?
The idea is that local browser storage isn't necessarily long lived and it can take a while to reconfigure states if that is lost, and the second use case would be for users to be able to share their states with others as it allows for quite complex setup of views which is great and being able to have one user share their setup might be quite helpful for others.

Yep, that's certainly possible. This example shows how you can use the API to load and save the states, you'd just need to tie that into a file import/export,
